Temporary Storage
I've been doing a form of this for years now, and i can't tell you how much it helps. Keeping a donation box is handy to get your rejects out of your daily space; I generally have a pile on the go of things people have left behind or i've borrowed; a gift box is super handy to keep some all-types extra gifts for impromptu dinner party or forgotten birthdays; and sure if you're an avid library user a dedicated box make sense. (my judge-y self would probably stay clear of this 'functional' set up, and go for something a little more 'wicker & wood')Posted by

Fancy tins for your fridge
i am a sucker for antique-looking tins. I always rest easy knowing that the ludicrous amount i spent on these luxury mints won't be in vain as I'll be able to use the tins again. Phew!Martha suggests affixing magnets to them so they can provide mini storage on your fridge.... I can picture pens, coupons, stamps...and the magnet also holds your notes! Delightful.

This appears to be a pretty sound way to keep your wet suit, and accompanying sand, contained.
