Martha on Sheet Storage

Yes, storing your sheet sets in their own pillow cases is a nice idea, however i'm not sure i'd be able to stretch my care-meter to accommodate the added time it would require for me to make something look that nice.

  1. I tried this because I hate looking for matching sheets but it doesn't look that good. It might be because of the contour sheet that is so bulky (I can never fold it perfectly).

  3. I with ya. My granny folded sheets like she came from the milatary. Somehow there was a water down effect. My mother doesn't do them as nice as her andmy sheets don't even look as good as my moms. As long as they are laundered I give myself a pass.

  6. You can fold the fitted sheet by grabbing it by the "corners" at each corner above the elasticized band. These are sewn-in points to the fabric that make it look nice and neat on your mattress. Tuck in the elastic beneath the corner point and fold as you would a regular sheet, folding in so the elastic is inside the fold. The key is to keep the elastic tucked in so you have as close to a rectangle as possible, to make it look neat. The fitted sheet will be folder larger than your flat sheet, so tuck the flat sheet in between the last fold and then stick that into your pillowcase. Voila!

I did this! BUT my guest didn't realize that it was a bundle of sheets and used it as a pillow:( I can't tell if this means that I did too good a job making it look smooth and uniform, or if my friend is just a moron.

First World PRoblems! I tell ya...

  10. Doesn't work for flannel sheets. That fitted sheet just refuses to fold small enough.

  11. I've done this for years, but mine don't look this good either. However, I do use it for flannel sheets. They are bulky, yes, but at least they are neat.

  13. Once my sheets are folded they are much smaller than the case. After looking at the picture again and again, those pillowcases can't be an open standard case. So I folded the extra on the side fist then the extra from the back over. Then flip the case! Looks just like the pic. I could have saved a bunch of time if there would have been a video. Love this idea though!!!

  14. Wish there was a video on how they get the pillowcases to look like this. I've been doing this for a year, and my proportions must be off, because I never get that neat of a result!

  18. I am SO doing this tomorrow! Don't care if it doesn't look as neat as this - at least it's more organized than the sheet shamozzle I've got going on in there at the moment!

  19. I did this and I love it! No more hunting for pillow cases and it makes everything nice and neat.

  21. This sheet cabinet is really great. I also have this struggle to perfectly fold sheets but I do love doing it especially when the laundry smells so refreshing. I will definitely give this a try and see if it works for me. This idea will surely help me to organize things like this. Thank you for sharing.
