Potentially Better-Looking File Cabinet
Look what can happen to an ugly file cabinet when it is assaulted by pretty(ish) paper.
Just think of the possibilities if you used a better looking print.
Non-ugly Drying Rack
It's amazing how the benchmark for certain products is set so low.
Take the drying rack. When have you ever been excited to use your drying rack? They are generally poorly made, and functionality doesn't appear to have been improved since their inception.
This drying rack would be a lovely addition to any washing regime. Just two frames, some dowels, hinges and a metal clasp at the top.... an easy weekend project that will make drying a pleasure....
(ok, so that might be a bit of an oversell .... but when electricity prices are so high that people start hanging their clothes from every possible fixture... you'll look very smart with your super-styling rack)

Bedside Book Birdhouse
What a cute idea; birdhouse-shaped bedside table that negates the need for a bookmark.... just place your book on top and voila, page saved! ahhh the sweetness of efficiency....
I can't find an original source, or where to purchase it, but i can only imagine it being relatively easy to diy ..... and if you happen to be skillful enough in the tool-shed, it would make a charming gift as well.
Shoes.Stairs.Storage.
If you happen to have a nice staircase with an underused Harry Potter closet tucked in
underneath it, and some spare 'remodeling' cash lying about, why not turn that closet into super efficient shoe & gear storage? You know you want to.
Brits: Smart People with Big Plugs
While there are many things i miss about life back in London, electronics are not one of them.
Life is a little less fun when your mobile phone charger is larger than the phone itself. Not being an electrical engineer i cannot objectively criticize the British system, but as a user the enormity of their plugs is ridiculous.
Min-Kyu Choi is the genius behind the Folding Plug System; the perfect solution to this problem.... so smart I can barely handle it....

Thing for Things
There is something pretty ugly about this, but the concept isn't far from great.
Combine a frame, drawer knobs and some ribbon to help put away that mound of jewelry and head-related gear that piles up on your dresser.
Book.Shelf.Wall
Seoul's Second Hotel design boutique has definitely pushed the boundaries of alternative shelving solutions. A wee bit 'Plinko' in a full wall version, but could be a nice addition to the home or office in a small cluster.
Moleskine Mate
This is so handy: instead of getting out your notebook AND THEN getting out your pen, you can do both at the same time.

Screw This
Slightly concerned about my level of excitement regarding this clever storage project. Perfect for the kitchen, the garage, office, workroom.... and pretty much anywhere you may find small things.
The only adjustment i would make is to use Bonne Maman jars with their charming gingham tops.

If you haven't met the Cycloc yet, let me introduce you: this small, wall-mounted rack is all you need to make bike storage a pleasure.
This is, in my opinion, what great design is all about; simple, efficient, effective.
