Baskets on Repeat

I'm always sensitive to the 'try hard' feeling evoked by multiplying an object in your home, but these baskets as clothing/linen storage seem rustic enough to evade this problem.

Charcoal Coat Rack?

Gather branches.
Paint.
Bind.
Hang Coat (after paint has dried).

I think this is an idea i might actually try, but perhaps in a cheerier colour.

Jess' Amazing Find

So what's a girl to do when her teeny tiny (but charming) room has no closet?

Well if you're Jess, you start brainstorming all sorts of possibilities in frustration (with my over-excited self by her side) ... branches? curtains? drying
racks?... ikea? dwr? pottery barn?

Then it happens.... the perfect Craigslist find: antique apple picking ladders.

Beautifully repurposed as clothing racks, Jess uses both sides of the ladder to hang her clothes, creating what can only be described as a retail/bedroom hybrid.

A perfect solution to her storage issue.

Oh My

Introducing the WTF!?-bed. Unfortunately unable to find the original source, although i'm not sure this is the kind of thing people actually buy.

Revolving Bookshelf

I have never seen one of these before.... and now i don't think my storage life will be complete without it.

Spinning is always an improvement to a traditionally stationary object, right?

'Bookside' table

If you're the transient type, or someone with an aversion to furniture, lining up your books by size can make for both excellent storage and a nice end-table.

Amazing Magnetic Hangers

Stunning magnetic hangers designed by Milica Balubdzic.

The kind of hanger that makes you toss your less-than-deserving articles of clothing.

Small but Lovely

So you've moved to Manhattan and even though you are paying 85% of your salary in rent, all you can afford is a one room 'cozy' bachelorrette.

Don't despair, this idea will solve your space and storage problems..... not to mention how much fun it will be to use those teeny tiny stairs everyday!

Bedside Book Birdhouse

What a cute idea; birdhouse-shaped bedside table that negates the need for a bookmark.... just place your book on top and voila, page saved! ahhh the sweetness of efficiency....

I can't find an original source, or where to purchase it, but i can only imagine it being relatively easy to diy ..... and if you happen to be skillful enough in the tool-shed, it would make a charming gift as well.

Thing for Things

There is something pretty ugly about this, but the concept isn't far from great.

Combine a frame, drawer knobs and some ribbon to help put away that mound of jewelry and head-related gear that piles up on your dresser.

Not Your Average Murphy

When William L. Murphy patented his stow-away bed in 1916 he was probably convinced that his design could not be improved upon. It has; introducing the Bed-Up by Paris-based Decadrages. Why take up all that wall space when the ceiling is crying out to be a more useful part of your life? Clearly perfect for small spaces, guest rooms or for those who just want to show off.

by way of.

Branches

If you can get over the barrier of hanging things from the ceiling, this good-looking, easy and cheap alternative is perfect for flats without closets.

Now don't go cutting branches down all over the place.... the best ones have already fallen. If you fancy color, don't go toxic, go milk.
