For the short of space

Part of me loves the efficiency of this combination ironing board/mirror, the other gets an unsettling Home Shopping Network/ As-Seen-on-TV vibe about it.

No official conclusions yet.

When Drying Racks Are Almost Too Cool

Seriously, how fantastic is this drying rack? So fantastic right? On a scale of fantastic drying racks this has to be at the top. Just look at how slick that little storage box is.

Life must be so different when you have a Wallfix by Brabantia. You must wake up every morning singing...."i love to hang my clothes".... and drawing big hearts on your calendar for laundry days.

Baskets on Repeat

I'm always sensitive to the 'try hard' feeling evoked by multiplying an object in your home, but these baskets as clothing/linen storage seem rustic enough to evade this problem.

Charcoal Coat Rack?

Gather branches.
Paint.
Bind.
Hang Coat (after paint has dried).

I think this is an idea i might actually try, but perhaps in a cheerier colour.

Clothes in the Loo?

I imagine if you are pressed for space this would work, but while this looks nice, there's something about keeping clothes in the bathroom that irks me.... the post-shower steam + sweater combo is particularly disturbing.

Jess' Amazing Find

So what's a girl to do when her teeny tiny (but charming) room has no closet?

Well if you're Jess, you start brainstorming all sorts of possibilities in frustration (with my over-excited self by her side) ... branches? curtains? drying
racks?... ikea? dwr? pottery barn?

Then it happens.... the perfect Craigslist find: antique apple picking ladders.

Beautifully repurposed as clothing racks, Jess uses both sides of the ladder to hang her clothes, creating what can only be described as a retail/bedroom hybrid.

A perfect solution to her storage issue.

Buttons for Business Cards

If you're the type that likes things in just the right place, this is for you: business card sleeves for your spare buttons & thread.

A little too tidy for my taste.... but i know there are a few of you that just canceled your weekend plans after seeing this idea ....happy organizing!

Amazing Magnetic Hangers

Stunning magnetic hangers designed by Milica Balubdzic.

The kind of hanger that makes you toss your less-than-deserving articles of clothing.

Non-ugly Drying Rack

It's amazing how the benchmark for certain products is set so low.

Take the drying rack. When have you ever been excited to use your drying rack? They are generally poorly made, and functionality doesn't appear to have been improved since their inception.

This drying rack would be a lovely addition to any washing regime. Just two frames, some dowels, hinges and a metal clasp at the top.... an easy weekend project that will make drying a pleasure....

(ok, so that might be a bit of an oversell .... but when electricity prices are so high that people start hanging their clothes from every possible fixture... you'll look very smart with your super-styling rack)

Not Your Average Closet

Finally. Good looking scarf storage.

What About The Sap?

Bloomin' fantastic idea by Alain Berteau, but i can't help wonder about the 'when-sap-meets-my-expensive-sweater' problem.

Wellies on the Rocks

For those that use their Welly boots in the actual terrain for which they were designed, this is a great solution to the dirt if you don't have a mudroom.

Grapple Hooks

This is so fantastically obvious I am a wee bit bitter that i didn't think of it myself. (designed by Ryan Frank)

Hanging Hangers

If you've ever found that your coats look better on display than in your closet, this is the perfect solution (designed by Bos & Couvee).

I'm sure there is a very good do-it-yourself project in here to be attempted.
